A marketing and distribution organisation engaged in horticultural & agronomic support as well as plant supply and marketing of fruit require the services of a skilled Management Accountant.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the job incumbent will be based in Hermanus and must be willing to travel between growers on an ad hoc basis.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• The production of management accounts with performance insights

• Third party grower administration (grower contracts, regulatory registers implementation and maintenance, farm maps register and maintenance, grower settlements (payments, calculations), forecasts, benchmarking)

• Grower main contact point in finance and administration

• Export system ownership (incl. administration/maintenance/improvements)

• Group royalty calculations, reporting and administration in line with contractual obligations

• Coordination and preparation of annual budget

• Assist with the creation and implementation of best practice to drive efficiency and decision making

• Compliance and risk – insurance of fruit, exchange control administration, and other

• Annual audit assistance

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Qualified Management Accountant (with SAIPA/AGA/ACMA/CGMA accreditation)

• At least 4 years’ relevant experience in the key responsibility areas listed above

• Advanced excel experience

• Proven track record of working with various foreign currencies

BENEFICIAL EXPERIENCE

• Agriculture/horticulture experience

• MS Navision (ERP solution)

• Paltrack / Palbroker system experience

• Project management experience, including change management

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

• Sound understanding of accounting principles

• Excellent mathematical and analysis skills

• Proven ability to analyse and interpret large datasets

• IT savvy and systems oriented
