The Business Platform Manager is responsible for the Monogastric Nutrition & Health platform that represent a significant driver to our business and the future direction of the company. This position takes a central role in planning and executing our business platform strategies and leading a team of professionals within that platform, effectively steering our strategic and budgeting processes to achieve both short and medium-term business objectives. Setting and achieving strategic objectives, profitable business growth, achieving sales and opex budgets are key performance areas. It is a hands-on position that require leadership and focus to drive a group of different competencies to achieve a common business goal. Functions will include people, product and technical management on all levels to achieve our business targets. The position reports to the head of our strategic customer facing team and has a team of product and technical support personnel reporting in.

Responsibilities

  • Build the platform to achieve our business goals within the different regions in Sub-Sahara and establish Kemin as a recognised partner for Intestinal Health and Nutritional solutions.
  • Responsible and accountable for achieving our budget and strategic objectives within the product platform.
  • Build and develop a team, drive a positive P&L and achieve annual growth projections.
  • Get directly involved in setting up sales projects and drive processes within the sales teams.
  • Ensure that the platform’s Product Innovation Funnel is executed within the business innovation framework (PIP).
  • Understand the market opportunities within the product platform and align strategies to achieve increasing share of the market.
  • Consult with the sales team on budget numbers and take ownership in supporting them to achieve the agreed targets.
  • Provide direct support to Kemin customers, distributors and account managers through regular face to face calls in alignment with the commercial plans to support specific objectives and sales projects.
  • Communicate and exchange experience with regional and global counterparts and maintain a strong network to ensure transfer of knowledge and experience within our business units.
  • Representative of the Sub-Sahara business unit at global company and industry events.
  • Participate in and attend local and international exhibitions, seminars, training and workshops.
  • Has a strong commercial customer interfacing role.

Qualifications

  • Experienced Animal Scientist or Veterinarian with marketing acumen.
  • Technical sales and marketing experience will be an added advantage.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in the Animal Health and Nutrition Industry.
