Our client in the agricultural industry requires the service of an Assistant Finance Manager. Key performance areas: ?Month-end accounting function (allocations, provisions, accruals, reconciliations, revaluation of forex balances etc.)?Preparation of month end and year end files to ensure adequate company financial records?Preparation and submission of VAT returns and resolving SARS queries?Foreign payments and ensuring adequate filing system in place and maintained to conform to regulatory requirements?Ensuring export sales are correctly calculated for accounting by debtors function?Contact person for export sales confirmations in terms of volumes and pricing?Reporting of key business numbers, routine and non-routine?Timeous analysis of variances?Management of fixed asset, biological asset and wear-and-tear registers?Assist with the creation and implementation of best practice to drive efficiency and decision making?Monthly CAPEX summary?Full accounting function for certain smaller group companies?Payment checking, loading and/or approvals?Other ad hoc finance related tasksThe successful candidate must have: ?Matric with a relevant B.Com Degree ?SAIPA/AGA/CIMA qualification will be advantageous ?1 - 3 Years relevant experience in a similar role will be advantages ?Experience in Agriculture/horticulture industry will be advantageous ?Excellent computer literacy (Excel advanced) ?Knowledge of MS Navision (ERP solution) and Pastel will be advantageous?Sound understanding of IFRS for SME?Sound understanding of VAT principles?Proven ability to analyse and interpret large data sets?Embraces and supports change processes?Confident, self-starter able to act on own initiative?Positive mind-set, good personal skills and good time management skills?Commercially aware, forward thinking?Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and working to tight deadlines?Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and logical analysis?Solutionist mindset and proven track record of effective problem solving?IT savvy and systems oriented?Must be willing to travel between farms on an ad hoc basisPlease note that only short listed candidates will be contacted.
